Correctional Chaplaincy
"I was in prison, and ye came unto me..." – Matthew 25:36 (KJV)
Corrections chaplaincy is one of the foundational ministries of R.O.C.K. Church of Livingston. Our chaplains are strategically placed within jails, detention centers, and court systems across Tennessee and the Southern Jurisdiction. Their responsibilities include:
- One-on-one spiritual counseling with inmates who are seeking guidance, healing, or repentance.
- Offering pastoral care and prayer for those facing sentencing, separation from family, or crisis of identity.
- Providing the Sacraments (Confession, Eucharist, and Anointing) to baptized inmates where allowed.
- Acting as a liaison between the inmate and recovery opportunities, such as referrals to R.O.C.K. Recovery Houses or other vetted faith-based sober living programs.
- Hosting Bible studies, worship services, and discipleship classes within detention facilities.
- Preparing inmates for successful spiritual reentry and reintegration through mentorship and post-release follow-up care.
These chaplains serve not only the inmates but also staff, officers, and correctional families, reminding them that the Church is present even behind bars.
Nursing Home Chaplaincy

Our Nursing Home Chaplaincy arm is rooted in compassion for the aged, the forgotten, and the isolated. R.O.C.K. Chaplains are assigned to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities to serve:
- Elderly residents who are spiritually hungry or emotionally lonely.
- Those in the final stages of life needing comfort, reassurance, and sacramental care.
- Providing weekly communion services, bedside prayer, and spiritual encouragement.
- Counseling for residents who have experienced grief, dementia-related fear, or abandonment.
- Encouraging Christian fellowship through hymns, Bible reading, and one-on-one visitation.
- Supporting nursing home staff with prayer, moral support, and burnout prevention.
Our chaplains remind the elderly that their value and dignity are eternal, and that the Church walks with them to the very end.
Hospital Chaplaincy

Hospital chaplaincy is both urgent and sacred. Our chaplains are trained in trauma-sensitive crisis care, offering immediate support in moments of medical emergency, unexpected death, or family tragedy. They serve in:
- Emergency Rooms, ICUs, and surgical units, providing pastoral presence during trauma, surgeries, or end-of-life decisions.
- Crisis debriefing and grief counseling for families facing loss, terminal diagnoses, or major accidents.
- Providing anointing of the sick, last rites, and spiritual comfort for those nearing death.
- Assisting medical teams in delivering news with compassion and spiritual insight.
- Offering confession and Eucharist to patients who desire reconciliation before passing.
- Walking with families during trauma notifications, code blues, or infant loss, offering stability through the presence of Christ.
Hospital chaplains function as silent intercessors and skilled listeners, equipped to carry the peace of God into chaotic moments.
